Christmas Eve Adventures

This Christmas Eve was pretty eventful! Seth and I had our first experience with staying up after Evie went to bed to assemble toys for Christmas morning! It was really fun to spend this time with him and playfully arguing about the "right" way to put together a toy (using directions, vs. eyeballing it). I've learned my lesson from Handy Manny that you should ALWAYS use the instructions, Seth, on the other hand, wasn't so confident.

This year we got Evie a kitchen play set that has a shopping cart and some fake food groceries. This is what the set looked like coming out of the box...fun.

The cart was easy enough to put together but the kitchen had a lot of things that needed to be snapped out of their casing and would often get a little sharp. So Seth decided to take matters into his own hands and use a box cutter to break and remove the edges of the plastic.

Unfortunately, the box cutter not only slices through plastic easily, but has an even easier time cutting through flesh! He sliced his thumb open pretty bad and was bleeding everywhere!  I administered some of my awesome First Aid skills but it didn't take long for him to start going into shock. I made him lie down right there on the kitchen floor and put his legs up. He started feeling better pretty quickly, but I was really glad BYUH made me take those FirstAid/CPR classes! This is the only picture Seth would let me take of him. His thumb and bloody pants.

After that adventure, we FINALLY finished putting the set together and here's the finished product!

She hasn't seen it yet, so I hope she will like it!!
